About Epiphysis
Started in early 2020, Epiphysis is the name of the music project from Adam Schock & Sam Baker to create music with an emotional spin.
The two friends connected immensely deeper during the covid pandemic, developed creative ideas and started to take action.
Adam & Sam who have known each other for over 15 years now, connected quickly and the first Jam-Sessions were recorded. It clicked!
With a similar mindset and understanding of emotional sounds and vibes, Adam and Sam embody emotional connectivity such as balance between the body, mind and soul trying to support all such with music.
Their purpose is to create tracks and sounds using the beauty of expressing emotions with the frequencies of human created instruments, synthesizer and all kind of sound sources to produce music to chill, think, reflect, meditate or DANCE!
Pure passion for music, the desire for life changing concepts and a positive mindset is what makes this duo so unique.
Mainly with a focus on emotional, partly very complex but driving electronic dance music, there are almost no limits for Adam and Sam. House & Techno Influenced by various genres like minimal, funk, breakbeat and even ambient can be found within their tracks.
Adam was born in Frankfurt/Main and raised in this area of Germany.
He has been living and breathing electronic music for over 20 years now. His passion of playing instruments and spinning vinyls took over at an very early age and got him into drum lessons, DJ gear and music theory.
As part of a school band his focus shifted towards engineering such as mixing musicals and concerts. Playing the drums in a Rock band for almost 20 years was a lot of fun and started amplifying his musical experience.
Adam became an enthusiastic musician, producer and DJ who brings loads of experience and know-how to the table. His skills go beyond music production and involve performance abilities such as DJing, playing dance floor music live to make big crowds move.
Sam was born and raised in a small town in Germany. After learning to play the bass and drums at an early age, Music became the most important thing for him growing up as a teenager.
While experimenting with logic and trying to arrange his first sounds and bits, Sam started getting into sports which escalated quickly, pushing himself hard, loads of training, strict rules and discipline, opened doors to get deeper into the understanding of fitness and health. Always pushing himself, he mastered several training techniques to finally make the move to pursue a career as an international fitness coach. Success and constant building on his business, the ability to work from anywhere in the world and helping other people became his passion. Living in different parts of the world taught him several things. Especially Asia and the time in Bangkok showed him to rethink mind challenging constructs such as happiness, respect, love and the deeper sense of life. All this inspired Sam to think about life, himself and what truly matters. With those thoughts and the situation of march 2020 he found his way into Adam’s Studio.
